Backend and platform engineering for systems where availability and data integrity are requirements rather than goals: distributed services, event-driven architecture, and the cloud infrastructure and delivery pipelines that support them.
Areas of focus¶
-
Backend engineering
Services for regulated, high-security environments, where data integrity, transaction throughput and horizontal scalability are design constraints from the start.
-
Event-driven architecture
Apache Kafka and RabbitMQ in production: cluster operation, Kafka Connect, Schema Registry, KSQL and ACL design within microservice architectures.
-
Cloud and Kubernetes
Workloads deployed and operated on AWS and Azure and orchestrated with Kubernetes, covering service configuration, scaling and rollout strategy.
-
Delivery and observability
CI/CD with GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins and AWS CodePipeline; containerized workloads instrumented with Grafana, Prometheus and Thanos.
Profile¶
Software engineer specialized in backend development, with professional experience in the insurance, banking and intelligent transportation sectors. The work has centred on designing and operating distributed systems that must remain correct and available under sustained load, and on the platform tooling that makes those systems maintainable by the teams that own them.
This site documents the technologies and platforms used in that work.
